As from v2025.06, the automationbridge can now send SMS messages as part of the Actions (Notifications) module.

SMS Messages will come from the number +61 489 261 836, we recommend you add this as a contact called 'automationbridge'

An example use case, would be to send SMS alerts when devices are online/offline, or their state changes.

To set this up, navigate to the Actions page, and click the Enable button in the SMS section.

You are then presented with a confirmation, that its now enabled.

Next, you need to setup SMS destinations to be used in the action rules, to do this click the Add button

Then, enter a name and mobile number (example below), then click Add.

Please make sure to enter the mobile number in the international format starting with a +

This now adds this mobile number to the list of available destinations.

Each mobile number needs to be verified, and will show a yellow button like below, click this to complete the verification process, which involves sending a 6 digit code to the mobile, which you then have to enter, this will then mark it as verified and valid to be used as a rule destination.

10 SMS credits are included, and additional credits can be purchased by clicking the Buy SMS Credits button.
Where 1 SMS message = 1 credit, your available credits are shown as above.

Now, to setup a SMS notification action, click the Add button on the Actions section, then select Send an SMS, and then pick the device you want to use as the trigger.

Next, select the action for your chosen device (this example uses the Network Monitor plugin), and then select the SMS Mobile/destination.

Click Next and then Update to complete the setup of this action, here you will now see the action listed.

When this event is triggered, you will then get an SMS with your entered message content.

Note : This service is provided by the Twilio platform, expected delivery time of a message is 3-5 seconds, however this may be longer due to external factors such as individual Telco's.
