✅ Fibaro HC3/HC3L
✅ Standalone
This guide assumes that you have already setup your Tapo Smart Plugs on the network, each must also be assigned a static IP address.
Please note this plugin works in two ways.
Firstly it connects to the Tapo Cloud to retrieve the available Smart Plugs and their info.
Then it requires the input of each of the Smart Plugs IP address, as this uses a local connection to control and retrieve the status changes and requires each smart plug to have a fixed / static IP address.
Step 1 - Click the Add button under the Tapo logo to begin.
Step 2 - Enter your username (email address) and the password for your Tapo cloud account, and click Next
Step 3 - Your account will be checked and if valid, will show a list of devices like so (Note : Only Smart Plugs are supported at this time)
If you get an error Unrecognised Error Code: -20004 (API rate limit exceeded) you will need to wait for approx 30 minutes before trying again, this is a limitation of the Tapo Cloud platform, and will not effect day to day functionality.
Step 4 - Your device(s) will be processed and added to your controller, Click OK to complete this part of the setup.
Step 5 - You will now be at the settings page for the plugin, you now need to update the local IP address for each smart plug. To do this, click the Edit icon (This is required for local control)
Step 6 - Enter the IP address and click Update, now you will be able to control the ON/OFF actions of the smart plug.
If you are using Fibaro HC3/HC3L you will find a new device has been created for each of your Smart Plugs.
If you are using the bridge in Standalone mode, you will find this device has been added to the home page.
