As of v0.437 of the automationbridge, we have built in support to present a Fibaro VD as either a Switch, Light or Blind to the Alexa, Google & HomeKit platforms.
Step 1 - Create/make sure that your VD has been created with a single set of ON/OFF or OPEN/CLOSE buttons. For example -
Step 2 - On the homepage of the automationbridge, enable the device for your platform.
Step 3 - Navigate to the required platform page, and there will be a settings icon beside the device type, which is defaulted to a Switch.
Step 4 - Click the Settings icon, and you will then be able to select the required device type, and then click the Update button. NB: HomeKit has the added device type selections of Lock & Garage Door.
Now the page will show the desired device type.
You will now need to perform a Sync or Discover devices depending on your platform.
If this device has been previously enabled for your voice platform,
- if using Google, just perform a Sync for devices,
- if using Alexa, you will need to forget the device and re-discover using the Alexa app or Alexa web portal.
- if using HomeKit, then this will automatically update.
Please note that as a VD does not have a normal state value, ie if ON or OFF, the devices will always show as OFF in the voice platforms. We are working to see if this state can be added in, where its known.
