Starting from v0.426 of the automationbridge, you can now use an alias name for the any device, instead of the name setup in your Controller.
Navigate to the Alexa page on the automationbridge, and you will find there is a new column for entering the Alias name, just enter a new name in the field, making sure to tab/click out of the field to ensure that the name is automatically updated.
In this example, we are going to update some device names, and then go thru the process to ensure that Alexa has the new names.
Step 1 - Update some of the device names as needed.
Step 2 - Now, to update the device names in the Alexa platform ;
- Via the Alexa App, Select the Devices tab, click the + icon at the top right of the Hone page, Choose Add Device, Choose Other, and then press the Discover Devices button. If will say that no new devices have been found, just click Close return to the Devices tab.
- Via the Web Portal (amazon.alexa.com), navigate to Smart Home, Devices, click the 'Discover' button.
Step 3 - You will find that your devices have been updated with their new names.
